It is very common for celebrity divorce to capture the attention of the media – and today another story has hit the radar. Rockstar Peter Frampton has now filed for divorce from his wife, Tina, after 15 years of marriage. Frampton currently resides in Indian Hills, Ohio.

The 61-year-old singer filed divorce papers last month with the Los Angeles Superior Court, in California, the state where he and his wife were married. The couple cited irreconcilable differences as the catalyst behind their split. According to sources the two have been separated since New Year’s Eve of 2011.

Court documentation confirms that the pair is asking for joint custody and equal visitation rights for their 15-year-old daughter. The documents also confirm that Frampton has requested his daughter remain under the primary physical custody of her mother.

The couple was married in 1996 in Los Angeles, but they remained residents of Nashville, Tennessee. The pair moved to Los Angeles in the year 2000 so Tina could be closer to family.

The split will be Peter Frampton’s third divorce. He was first married to a woman named Mary Lovett, whom he divorced in 1973. He was later remarried to Barbara Gold and split with her in 1993.

There is currently no information on whether or not the couple had a prenuptial agreement.

After years of musical success, Frampton more than likely has amassed substantial assets. Additionally, the couple has acquired joint property over the course of their 15 years of marriage. Frampton will likely seek the advice of competent counsel to guide him through the divorce proceedings and help negotiate a fair distribution of the couple’s property.
