Ohio readers learn of high asset divorce of celebrity

A long-time television star who may be familiar to readers in Ohio recently announced that’s she is planning to end her marriage. Mayim Bialik starred in the 1990’s sitcom, ‘Blossom’, and now plays Amy Farrah Fowler on the series ‘The Big Bang Theory’. She and her husband plan to seek the divorce after nine years of marriage, a report indicates.

They are the parents of two young sons. A main focus of the divorce process for the pair is working to ensure that their sons hove two loving homes, the actress reported. It is unclear if these homes will include the attachment parenting philosophy that was the subject of a book written by Bialik last fall. In it, the actress promotes the style of parenting that can include extended breast-feeding length and children sharing a bed with parents.

There are no additional details that have been reported as to the terms of the divorce agreement. However, in many such cases, there will be discussions of support and custody of the children. In addition, couples who are divorcing may seek to negotiate a division of property that includes assets obtained during their marriages.

The actress has had a lengthy career in the entertainment industry that may have left her with large assets. If this is the case, the couple may find that they must negotiate to divide the property, including her earnings. However, in many high asset cases, a prenuptial agreement exists that can govern a divorce property division. It is unknown if such a document exists in this case. If not, this couple–like many similarly situated in Ohio–must negotiate to end their marriage in divorce.
