Readers in Ohio may be interested to read about movie and television star Parminder Nagra, who is facing a lawsuit from her soon-to-be ex-husband. The star filed for divorce in February. The lawsuit claims that the pair lived together for almost six years prior to their marriage and that they orally agreed to share all of their wealth equally.
James Stenson, who married the “Bend It Like Beckham” star in 2009, contends that the Nagra asked that he leave a successful career as a photographer in London to move to our country and be her life partner. In addition, he says, the pair purchased real estate properties in the U.S., and he was responsible for managing them. Now he seeks an equal division of the real estate as well as at least $500,000 in damages from the star.
The couple has a young son together. There are no reports as to any requests from the parents regarding custody of the child. In addition, it is unclear what, if any, spousal support or child support will be ordered as a part of the divorce.
Like those who file for divorce in Ohio, the couple in this matter has many issues to work through as they seek the final dissolution. The resolution of this lawsuit will decide the classification for some of the property involved in this divorce. After this question is answered, there may be other assets that the couple may seek to divide as this divorce makes its way through the California court system.
